A strategic alliance for women’s health and well-being. This is the partnership sealed between the IREM Group, one of the leading industrial companies in Siracusa, and Salute Donna – Siracusa chapter, an association committed for years to promoting cancer prevention. The protocol, presented yesterday morning, Wednesday 12 November 2025, at the group’s headquarters in Siracusa, introduces a dedicated screening and healthcare programme for female employees, offering medical check-ups and consultations directly on company premises. An initiative that combines corporate welfare, social responsibility and health protection, fully aligned with the ESG principles guiding IREM’s strategy.
The company’s commitment was outlined by CEO Giovanni Musso, who stated: “We are very pleased to have signed this agreement with Salute Donna because we believe that the quality of life of our employees is essential, not only on a personal level but also professionally. A person who feels well is more serene and more efficient. IREM has long embraced social responsibility based on three pillars: training young people, supporting cultural initiatives and investing in welfare. These elements are embedded in our management model and represent the future of sustainable enterprise.”
The initiative was made possible thanks to the contribution of Silvia Saraceno, Vice President of the Board of Directors, who strongly advocated for bringing a prevention campaign inside the company. “The IREM Group has a significant female workforce, with over sixty women on staff, and for this reason I felt it was important to promote this project,” Saraceno explained. “I strongly believe in prevention and in the professionalism of Salute Donna. Offering our employees the opportunity to undergo examinations and check-ups on site is a gesture of care and responsibility. Well-being starts from here: when people feel good, the company grows better. This type of service was missing in our area, and we are proud to make it available.”
Satisfaction was echoed by Maria Concetta Francica Nava, President of the Siracusa chapter of Salute Donna: “IREM’s initiative is a virtuous example for the entire region. For years, Salute Donna has promoted the culture of cancer prevention, and seeing such an important company take care of its female employees sends a powerful message of civility. Our breast specialists will visit the workplace to carry out screenings, supported by our volunteers. The women will be accompanied not only during their check-ups but also afterwards, should further examinations or treatments be necessary.”
The protocol provides employees with the opportunity to undergo medical examinations and breast ultrasounds directly at the company, thanks to the collaboration with specialised breast care physicians. During the informational meeting, attended by around fifty employees, the objectives and benefits of the agreement were presented. The attending breast specialist explained the main tools for early diagnosis and the procedures for accessing screenings, emphasising that prevention remains the most effective way to protect one’s health.
