Training becomes employment. With the hiring of 11 young welders at the IREM construction site in Livorno, the journey launched with the “Antonello Gagini” Technical Institute in Syracuse as part of our ongoing Academy programme reaches a significant milestone. The students were hired upon completing the eighth welding course delivered by IREM at the Gagini Institute over the past three years. A total of 19 final-year students completed 74 hours of training, including 56 hours of hands-on workshop practice.

For the 11 young people selected, training now translates into concrete professional experience. They will work at the Livorno construction site on the development of a biorefinery for Eni, as part of a project to convert an existing refinery into a biorefinery.

“Training takes on its greatest meaning when it can be transformed into a concrete employment opportunity,” said IREM CEO Giovanni Musso. “The recruitment of these 11 young people confirms the value of a model we strongly believe in and will continue to develop.”
